McSpedden Rocks Their School
Recently, McSpedden Elementary students arrived at school to find that staff had transformed their campus overnight to help students dive deeper into their learning. Inspired by the book “Rock Your School,” staff spent an incredible amount of time planning to make sure each student experienced their learning in a new, tailored environment. The rooms had several themes including creepy carrots, camping, Taylor Swift and Super Mario Brothers. The students loved dancing with their teacher and learning in their transformed classrooms. Liscano Students Collaborate Artistically
Liscano Elementary music teacher Shannon Strader guided her fifth grade students through playing an Orff Ensemble last week, showcasing the incredible skills of her students. Over the course of one 45-minute class period, students were tasked with collaborating with peers to learn their parts of the ensemble and then perform it as a whole class. Students Presented with Team Behind the Team Scholarships
Congratulations to seniors across Frisco ISD who are recipients of the Frisco Bowl Team Behind the Team Scholarship Award presented by Town and Country Roofing. Emree Nagurney of Wakeland High School and Jack Copeland of Frisco High School were each awarded a $750 scholarship at recent football games.
Reedy Student is a Finalist in Essay Competition
Reedy High School junior Aniruddh Marella is one of the finalists in a nationwide youth essay competition conducted by the Indian Philanthropy Association. In his essay, Marella made a strong case for reducing gender violence and crime against women. Find the essay and learn more about the competition.
Navy National Defense Cadet Corps Competes at Field Meet
The Lebanon Trail High School Navy National Defense Cadet Corps competed at a Field Meet at McKinney High School last week in which they won several awards. They earned first place in the girls 2x400 meter relay and male pull-ups. They were second in the girls 100 meter dash and in the male push-up competition. They finished third in the male 2x400 meter relay. Congratulations to these students and their continued success!
