Learn More about Dual-Credit Opportunities in Frisco ISD

Jan 31, 2018

Frisco ISD and Collin College will host a series of events this spring for students and parents to learn more about dual-credit opportunities in the District.

Students who enroll in dual-credit courses earn both high school and college credit and save thousands of dollars in college tuition.

Courses are being added each school year that will allow graduates in the Class of 2021 and subsequent years to earn an associate degree through Collin College while completing the requirements for a high school diploma. Students who transfer to a university for a bachelor’s degree after completing an associate degree save an average of roughly $17,000 and graduate with two degrees.

Frisco ISD students in grades 8-11 and their parents are invited to attend one of the following information sessions:

  • Tuesday, January 30, 6 p.m. in the Wakeland High School Auditorium
  • Wednesday, January 31, 6 p.m. in the Reedy High School Auditorium
  • Wednesday, February 7, 6 p.m. in the Independence High School Cafeteria
  • Monday, February 26, 6 p.m. in the Centennial High School Cafeteria
  • Wednesday, February 28, 6 p.m. in the Lone Star High School Auditorium
  • Thursday, March 1, 6 p.m. in the Heritage High School Cafeteria
  • Wednesday, March 7, 6 p.m. in the Frisco High School Auditorium
  • Wednesday, March 21, 6 p.m. in the Lebanon Trail High School Cafeteria
  • Tuesday, March 27, 6 p.m. in the Liberty High School Auditorium
  • Thursday, April 5, 5:30 p.m. in the Career and Technical Education Center Training Rooms

Families are encouraged to attend the event at their feeder high school, but may attend any session scheduled across the District.
