Middle and high school students and parents are invited to experience firsthand the coursework at the Frisco ISD Career and Technical Education Center during an interactive open house on Thursday, February 1. The come-and-go event will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the center, 9889 Wade Boulevard in Frisco.
Visitors will be given a map as they enter the building and can explore classrooms and offerings at their leisure. Instructors and current CTE students will be on hand to answer questions about programs of study and course offerings.
Students and parents will be invited to participate in hands-on activities that are typical of each program of study. In addition, sample projects will be on display.
“This is a great opportunity for students and parents to get a feel for the curriculum and what’s involved with each course,” said CTE Counselor Kelly Hemenway. “We hope it will help them with course and career planning.”
Students will register for courses for the 2018-19 school year starting next month. Introductory courses for the CTE programs are offered at students’ home campuses.
