Kirk Martin, a noted speaker and parent trainer for Celebrate Calm, will present “10 Ways to Change Your Child Overnight” at two trainings on October 18, 2017.
Martin will share strategies to decrease children’s meltdowns, tantrums, arguing and increase listening, while improving focus and attention. He will also provide tips for transitioning students away from electronics peacefully and creating a stress-free environment for mornings, bedtime, and homework time. Along with his son, Casey, Martin will examine the life of parent and child with humor and grace, share their personal experiences, and provide easy-to-implement strategies for creating a “calm” home.
Kimberly Goushey, a Special Education In-Home/Parent Trainer for the District, says Martin’s message is perfectly suited for parents of students with special needs but seamlessly reaches all parents.
Martin will present two identical trainings and both are open to all Frisco ISD parents and educators. Registration is necessary and as a courtesy to all, children may not attend.
The morning training is from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. in the Career and Technical Education Center training rooms at 9889 Wade Blvd. Seating is limited. RSVP here.
The evening training is from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at the FISD Administration Building Board Room at 5515 Ohio Drive. Again, seating is limited. RSVP here.
This event is a partnership of Frisco ISD, Frisco Council of PTAs and the SAGE (Special and Gifted Education) committee.
