Support Your Student's Learning Over the Summer

Jun 01, 2017

Did you know time spent reading is one of the crucial components of becoming a good reader? Studies show children who are read to at home enjoy a substantial academic advantage.

Elementary parents are invited to join Frisco ISD for a free parenting seminar on how you can promote literacy in your home. Two sessions are scheduled on Wednesday, June 14 – 10 to 11 a.m. or 5 to 6 p.m. in the Spears Elementary library, 8500 Wade Boulevard.

In this session, parents will learn applicable strategies to promote literacy in their homes by creating an environment that provides access to books while fostering routines that support reading achievement. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which the conversations and dialogue we have with our children can support their language and literacy development. There will be time for questions.
