FISD Athletes Compete at Regional Track Meet

Frisco ISD high schools sent more than 60 individual athletes and relay teams to the Region II track and field meet held April 28-29 at UT Arlington. In the boys’ team standings, Liberty High School placed fourth, Heritage High School was seventh and Wakeland High School came in ninth. The Liberty, Wakeland and Heritage girls’ teams finished fifth, seventh and ninth respectively.

FISD had seven individual athletes and two relay teams across 12 events advance to the state meet to be held May 11-13 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

The following FISD athletes are headed to the state meet in their respective events (Regional Champions in bold):


  • Sal Guli (Wakeland) – Discus

  • Nick Hendrix (Wakeland) – 3200m & 1600m

  • James Manders (Heritage) – Pole Vault

  • Christian Palmer (Liberty) – 300m Hurdles

  • Isaiah Palmer (Liberty) – 400m

  • Liberty 4x400m Relay team – Daniel Lescay, Christian Palmer, Josh Holden, Isaiah Palmer, Nathan Kabongo & Amari Hackett


  • Carrie Fish (Liberty) – 3200m & 1600m

  • Nissi Kabongo (Liberty) – 800m & High Jump

  • Wakeland 4x200m Relay team – Briana Johnson, Victoria Altieri, Ashlyn Heckman, & Presley Money
