In collaboration with the Frisco Independent School District, Frisco Square presents the 8th Annual Arts in the Square, with proceeds going to Frisco Family Services. Frisco Square transforms into an outdoor fine arts and crafts gallery during Arts in the Square, April 1-2, 2017 with free admission and parking.
This is the eighth year of the Arts in the Square Poster contest. Every year, students from Frisco ISD participate in four categories according to grade level, K-12. A jury selects a winner in each of the four categories.
This year’s winners are:
- Kim Esther, Sparks Elementary
- Swain Manshi, Sparks Elementary
- Jafari Aveen, Hunt Middle School
- Merran Decker, Reedy High School
These four art pieces are represented on the final poster designed by a graphic design and illustration student from the Frisco ISD Career and Technical Education Center.
The Arts in the Square 2017 committee selected three poster finalists, with the winning poster designed by Juleanna Culilap, a student at Liberty High School and first-year graphic design student at the CTE Center.
Other finalists were Scott Relyea of Reedy High School and Alyssa Goldberg of Frisco High School.
Winners in each category will receive cash awards Saturday, April 1 during the festival. Top entries will be exhibited at Frisco ISD booths at Arts in the Square.
