NBC 5 included Frisco ISD in its recent collection of stories entitled Different Shades of Texas. The television station's Chris Jose visited Phillips Elementary School to shoot a news story focusing on how the District is changing as more and more families move into the District.

FISD is working at several levels to celebrate diversity and to educate teachers about the many cultures now represented in their classrooms.

Frisco ISD students speak 67 different languages. Enrollment figures reveal a student body that consists of 50 percent white, 21 percent Asian,14 percent Hispanic, 11 percent African American and 4 percent other. Families move to Frisco ISD from many different states and from countries all over the world.
