Vandeventer Middle School’s sixth-grade Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Club showcased 100 tri-fold displays with hands-on materials to engage the public at STEM Night this spring.
STEM Club gives students the opportunity to explore different career fields, experience real-world learning and pair with STEM professionals based on their chosen project.
Many of the 500 attendees included professionals from the Perot Science Museum, Coserv, Frisco Public Library, Raytheon, Baylor Medical Center and Siemens. Liberty High School Math Club students and school namesake Billy Thompson Vandeventer were also on hand to provide feedback.
STEM Club and STEM Night were made possible thanks to a grant from the Frisco Education Foundation.
