Community Group Develops Master Plan for Frisco ISD

A committee of Frisco ISD community members, parents, students and staff will present recommendations to the Board of Trustees next week, outlining a strategy for the continued success of the school district.

It is part of a two-year effort by FISD to increase transparency and community involvement in the planning and decision-making process.

The committee’s recommendations will address both the long-term facilities and program needs of the District.

Student Wins Top Award at National Leadership Conference

A student from Centennial High School brought home gold from the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference held this summer in Atlanta, Ga.

Brydn Abraham won the highest medal in the Illustrated Talk-Junior Entry category. He took first place at the state conference in April, making him Frisco ISD’s first-ever FCCLA national qualifier.

Frisco ISD has a lot to celebrate as students continue to excel in and out of the classroom.

This past school year, a student from Scoggins Middle School won the Scripps National Spelling Bee. At least 15 high school students earned the highest-possible ACT score. Three athletic teams brought home state championships, and the Fowler Middle School jazz band was the first ensemble of its kind selected to perform at the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention. And that’s just a few of the many academic, athletic and fine arts achievements of the past year.

FISD is proud of our students’ accomplishments and can’t wait to see what they do next!
