Frisco ISD Forms Facilities & Programs Evaluation Committee

A committee of Frisco ISD community members, parents, students and staff will meet over the next few months to envision the future of the school district. The Facilities & Programs Evaluation Committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the FISD School Board and administration regarding the long-term facilities and program needs of the District.

The group will examine student enrollment projections, school building capacities and facility and maintenance needs. In addition, they will learn about the District’s goals and objectives regarding academics, security, technology, athletics, transportation and more. The goal is to develop a comprehensive District master plan to present to the School Board in August.

Congratulations Class of 2018!

Eight Frisco ISD high schools presented diplomas during graduation ceremonies last week at Dr Pepper Arena and the Ford Center. That includes Reedy, which celebrated its first-ever graduating class.

“It is definitely special,” Reedy graduate Cameron Crane said minutes before he crossed the stage. “I think we leave behind a solid foundation in tradition and spirit.”

Frisco ISD congratulates the Class of 2018 and wishes graduates the best of luck in their future endeavors.

FISD is Proud Home of Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion

An eighth grader at Scoggins Middle School won the coveted title of 2018 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion after correctly spelling the word “koinonia” in round 18 of the competition.

Karthik Nemmani was this year’s winner of the Frisco ISD Spelling Bee and was the District’s first-ever participant in the national bee. He defeated 515 spellers from across the country to win the national title, including the second-place finisher, who had beat him earlier this year at the Collin County Spelling Bee.

Fowler Team Wins National Online Pentathlon Competition

A group of seventh graders from Fowler Middle School is the first in the history of Frisco ISD to win a state title and national online championship in Academic Pentathlon.

The team advanced to the national competition after winning the state championship in May. Students took exams online in math, social studies, science, literature and fine arts and finished with the highest score in the country.

Summer Processes for Transcripts and Verification of Enrollment and Attendance

Frisco ISD will process student transcript requests and complete Verification of Enrollment and Attendance (VOE) forms using separate online processes now through August 1.

High school students who wish to forward official transcripts to colleges and universities may request an electronic transfer at this link on the District website.

To receive a completed VOE form, which is required when applying for a driver’s license in the state of Texas, families should email with the student ID number and campus name.
