Frisco ISD wrestling programs earned two team titles and a handful of individual championships over the weekend.
Liberty High School won the boys team title and was second in the girls team standings at the Trojan Classic, which was hosted by Euless Trinity High School. Liberty’s Savannah West won the 110-pound girls title, while the boys racked up points with four finalists: Broderic Green (120 pounds), Precious Essien (132), Jonathan Green (145) and Diego Lorenso (182).
Wakeland High School finished ninth at the Trojan Classic, led by Brady Mistr, who won the individual title at 145 pounds. He defeated Liberty’s Jonathan Green 4-3 in the championship match.
Lone Star High School won the boys team title at the Cougar Classic, which was hosted by The Colony High School. Lone Star had a pair of individual champions at the Cougar Classic: La’Stot Pleasant (132) and Michael Gaisoa (220). Frisco High School finished fifth in the Cougar Classic boys standings and had two individual champs: Tyler Brennan (106) and Thomas Schneider (120).
The Centennial High School boys wrestling team finished sixth at the Texas State Duals championships in El Paso. The Titans defeated Fabens, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial and Corpus Christi Ray in dual matches and lost to Canyon Randall and Saginaw Chisholm Trail.
