The Lone Star girls basketball team had multiple things to celebrate over the weekend.
The Rangers won four straight games to claim the 2017 Curtis Culwell Invitational Basketball Tournament in Garland. Lone Star defeated Sachse 62-50 to win the tournament.
Mallory Adams, a senior who has signed to San Diego State, scored her 2,000th career point in the second round against Rowlett.
"I couldn't be more excited for Mallory and our team," said coach Katie Stinton. "Mallory has been blessed with an incredible talent, but she is a kid who puts in the work to perfect her craft. ... Her teammates even made posters for the big bucket!"
"Hitting 2000 points was a great accomplishment, but what made it so special was getting to share this moment with my parents and teammates," expressed Mallory Adams. "This was only a small but important pit stop on our goal reach state and I'm thankful to spend my last year of high school ball with this group of girls."
Congratulations to the Lone Star Rangers basketball and to Adams on an outstanding accomplishment!
