Orchestra All-State

Nineteen Frisco ISD orchestra students were named to TMEA All-State Orchestra ensembles this month. They represent Centennial High School, Heritage High School, Independence High School, Lebanon Trail High School, Liberty High School and Reedy High School.

Parade Results

Frisco ISD was well represented in the annual Frisco Community Parade. Winners in the parade judging include three which will have scholarships presented in their honor at the Frisco Education Foundation Scholarship Night. Several “Bragging Rights” awards are also awarded.

Students from Frisco High School and Heritage High School had work recognized in the 2017 Association of Texas Photography Instructors Fall Contest.

Good Luck to FISD Teams in Football Playoffs

Congratulations to the four Frisco ISD football teams who advanced to the district playoffs. Wakeland lost in a hard fought battle against the Prosper Eagles. Lone Star High School football team will advance to the bi-district round after defeating The Colony on November 16. Good Luck to Reedy and Centennial high schools in their first round playoff games tonight. See the schedule.

Lebanon Trail High School Team Wins $10,000 in Lexus Eco Challenge

A group of five students from Lebanon Trail High School are regional winners in the Lexus Eco Challenge, an educational competition that inspires and empowers students to learn about the environment and take action to improve it. The students – Navya Chintaman, Eric Bau, Michael Mikail, Kathryn Clark and Jackson Young – won $10,000 in grants and scholarships and now advance to the national level of competition. The team focused on improving the quality of local water sources and helped provide clean drinking water to communities devastated by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Maria.

Seniors Accept Scholarships to Play College Sports

Nearly 30 FISD seniors committed to play college athletics during the fall signing period this month. Students will play sports ranging from volleyball to basketball and cross country, among others. Universities include Texas A&M University, University of Oklahoma, Southern Methodist University and many more. See the list.
