Four Frisco ISD students will have their artwork featured in Austin as part of the state-wide celebration of National Youth Art Month, celebrated annually each March by the Texas Art Education Association.

Each year, districts from across the state submit artwork made by Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade student artists to be selected for exhibition at the Texas State Capitol Building and Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.

Congratulations to the following students whose work was selected:

  • Yunbeen Bae of Reedy High School, student of Katie Gallimore
  • Bethany Jones of Heritage High School, student of Sarah Watkins
  • Darci Massey of Lone Star High School, student of Jennifer Fronterhouse
  • Jerry Zhang of Curtsinger Elementary School, student of Laverne Forwark

The 2017 exhibit will begin at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum, running from March 6-26, before moving to the lower rotunda of the Texas State Capitol Building March 29-April 4.

An awards celebration and reception for students, families and teachers will be held March 26 at 2 p.m. at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum.
