Elliott Teacher Named Science Teacher of Year (September, 2008)

Nancy Gardner, fifth grade science teacher at Elliott Elementary School, has been named the winner of the 2008 Science Teachers Association of Texas (STAT) Outstanding Elementary School Science Teacher.

Gardner will be honored at a luncheon in Fort Worth on November 7th and will also be awarded a plaque and $5,000.

Gardner joined FISD in 2005. She taught at Gunstream Elementary prior to moving to Elliott Elementary, which opened this fall.

"We are delighted that a member of our exceptional Elliott staff has been selected as Texas Outstanding Science Teacher of the Year. She serves as a wonderful resource for students and staff. Our Elliott community is very proud of her professional accomplishment,"said Principal Susan Murphy.
