FISD Honored long-time employees Monday. |
|
FISD staff and teachers had the opportunity to see themselves and coworkers on the JumboTron screen at FISD’s Memorial Stadium Monday, as the entire district gathered to honor long-time employees at the annual pin ceremony. Originally scheduled to be held at Dr Pepper Ballpark, the event was relocated to the football stadium due to heavy rains. Memorial Stadium, located on some of the highest ground in Frisco, escaped the problems of standing water.
Superintendent Rick Reedy was joined by members of the FISD Board of Trustees and the Instructional Support Team as he presented pins to employees who have served the district for 10, 25 , 30 and 35 years. There were no 20-year anniversary employees this year. Reedy also asked all the employees celebrating their fifth anniversary with the district to stand and be recognized.
Charles Mooneyham, who currently serves as an assistant at the KEYS center, began his career with the district in 1974, and received his 35-year pin. He began as a teacher and coach and has also served in administrative capacities, as well. He and his wife, Dr. Charlotte Mooneyham, were honored with the naming of Mooneyham elementary in 2007-2008.
Receiving 30-year pins were Max Bledsoe of Frisco High School, Sue Wilson Stafford of the KEYS program , and Dr. Daryl Trent, Director of Fine Arts.
Dr. Reedy announced Jean Courtney of the CTE Center, Debbie Michael of Pioneer Heritage Middle School, Stacy Mills of Elliott Elementary, Marie Sasso of Staley Middle School and Judy Schauer of the Finance Department, as the recipients of 25-year pins.
