Mindbender Academy is not a typical day camp. Instead of swimming and craft time, these students are enjoying afternoons of mechanical engineering and nanotechnology.

This camp is geared toward students entering sixth, seventh and eighth grades in 2009. The camp is a Frisco Education Foundation event sponsored by Raytheon, Sci-Tech Discovery and Frisco Independent School District.

This is the second year of this event which reaches out to students who are interested in science and engineering. Hands-on, fun activities bring science to life and lets campers bend their brains around subjects such as microbiology and robotics.

The session began June 15 at the FISD Career and Technology Education Center and will conclude June 19.
