Wester Teacher NAmed Amgen Fellow (September, 2008)
NTSA is the larges professional organization in the world promoting excellence and innovation in science education. Fellows are selected from applications from all over the country and participate in a year-long professional development program established to help reduce the high attrition rate among science teachers. The Amgen Foundation seeks to advance science education; improve patient access to quality care; and strengthen the communities where Amgen staff members live and work.

The National Science Teacher’s Association has announced that Kendra Walters, 6th grade science teacher, will once again represent Wester Middle School as an Amgen Fellow and receive financial support to attend and participate in the NSTA 2009 National Conference on Science Education in New Orleans.
