Pioneer Heritage Future City Team Wins Silver Medal

Pioneer Heritage Middle School had two of its three teams win awards at the North Texas Future City Regional Competition this month.

The team that built a city it named Plurimus Estriatus took second place, winning $750 for the school and $50 for each team member plus silver medals. The team also won the Excellence in Transportation System Design – another $25 each. Team members are Jeff Ding, Parker Ray, Ian Macalimo, and Rodolfo Zevallos (alternate). The team has been invited to a ceremony at the Texas Society of Professional Engineers on February 16th at the Petroleum Club in Fort Worth.

The PHMS team that created a city called The Havens won a special award for Excellence in Green Concepts. Each team member received $25. The team members are Brianna Heath, Matthew Bedard and Robby Misasi.

PHMS Future City sponsor Bob Gaines also noted that the third team made up of Brennan Garner, Jacob Przada and Tyler James also produced a very competitive entry called Brownsville and worked hard in the competition. Patti Tuck was also a sponsor.
