Frisco ISD Pilots Restaurant Style Concepts (March, 2008)

Frisco ISD is one of only a handful of school districts recently asked to begin piloting three branded "restaurant-style" concepts developed by Tyson Foods, Inc. for secondary school campuses.

At Wakeland High School, the Primo Donna’s Italian Kitchen™ is providing a menu of classic Italian foods. From hot, cheesy calzones to Chicken Parmigiana sandwiches, Primo Donna is serving up Italian that is fresh, fast and fabulous!

At Griffn Middle School, the Grab 'N Go concept is being piloted. Grab ‘N Go features fast favorites like a Snappy Caesar Salad, ASAP grilled chicken wrap, Roast Beef ‘n Run sandwich and much more.

At Liberty High, the Grill Meister is turning up the heat with their menu of grilled favorites like a bacon cheeseburger, steak sandwich, grilled chicken salad and much more.

The primary objective for our food service operation in the Frisco ISD is to provide students with food choices that are attractive, nutritious and affordable, and we are excited about this opportunity to promote these cutting-edge concepts, said Debera Tredennick, Director of FISD Child Nutrition Services.

FISD has been proud to work with Tyson to test these new high-quality, restaurant-style a la carte menu choices that are all prepared with nutritional guidelines in mind, she added. The dsitrict will provide Tyson with data on sales and acceptance during this six weeks pilot. In exchange, the district received training and the ingredients and will be able to keep the equipment and promotional materials.
