The Frisco Independent School District received the workforce catalyst award for its CTE (Career and Technology Education) Center. The workforce catalyst award is presented to a company or organization that strengthens and prepares the workforce through education and/or innovative programming. The CTE Center provides students with an innovative, visionary approach to education in a state-of the-art facility with real world learning spaces and equipment.
Frisco ISD was one of nine businesses and organizations honored last Thursday evening at the W Hotel at a special reception hosted by the Dallas Regional Chamber. The Chamber’s annual Momentum awards honor DFW businesses and organizations that have had an impact on job growth and contribute to the vitality of the DFW region. Holmes Murphy and Associates is the title sponsor of the event. The school district was nominated for the award by the Frisco Economic Development Corporation.
According to Dr. Wes Cunningham, Principal of the CTE Center, “It was a huge honor to accept this award on behalf of the faculty and staff of the Frisco ISD CTE Center. The success of our program relies on the excellent instruction provided and facilitated by our teachers, who are preparing students to become successful workers in the 21st century. We are honored to have partnerships with the citizens and business community of the city of Frisco."
