Bright Elementary is the site of two wonderful activities this summer, according to Principal Susie Graham.

The Bright Summer Reading Program (which is in collaboration with St. Philip's church) is every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 noon.  Students come and will have an activity, play games, have books read to them and then check out books to take home.  "Our first day we had about 15 students and this week we were up to nearly 30," Graham said. "We are doing this in conjunction with the Frisco Library. They are allowing us to use their bags and sheets to keep track of books and the students can win prizes from the Frisco Library!  Each week has a different theme - this week is Aloha!  Next week is Beach, then Dude Ranch, etc. .." The program will not meet from June 30 through July 9, but will start up again on July 13.

Mighty Minds is a class for  second graders, Graham said.  Teacher Lisa Dominy started this program three years ago.  "Students come to Bright from 12:30-2:30 p.m. every Wednesday and have fun learning about science, math, reading - all hands on activities." Activities include projects such as making s'mores using the sun as a heating source. Both programs will be on break from June 30-July 10.
