Frisco High Boys Swim Team Take Third State Championship (February, 2008)
The Frisco High School boys swim team has shown once again that they rule the pool. It is especially true, when it comes to state competition. The team won the State Championship Saturday at the University of Texas Swim Center. The boys totaled 223 points, 3 points ahead of 2nd place Austin Johnson High School, according to Coach Bruce Eubanks.
Boys who competed in the State Meet included Colin Nix, Jared Nix, Barrett Mark, Sean Bray, Michael Shkolnikov, and Justin Turner.
Individual and Relay results are as follows:
200 Medley Relay (Sean Bray, Jared Nix, Barrett Mark, Colin Nix) – 1st – New school record and Automatic All-American;
200 Freestyle Relay (Sean Bray, Jared Nix, Michael Shkolnikov, Justin Turner) – 6th
400 Freestyle Relay (Sean Bray, Barrett Mark, Justin Turner, Colin Nix) – 2nd – All-American Consideration;
Colin Nix – 1st – 100 Freestyle (New School Record and All-American Consideration; 2nd – 50 Freestyle (All-American Consideration);
Barrett Mark – 1st – 200 Individual Medley (New School Record and All-American Consideration); 2nd – 500 Freestyle (New School Record and Automatic All-American;
Jared Nix – 1st – 100 Breaststroke (Automatic All-American); 4th – 100 Butterfly (New School Record);
Sean Bray – 5th – 200 Freestyle (New School Record).
Coach Bruce Eubanks was also named swimming coach of the year.
