Frisco ISD taxpayers should keep an eye on their mailbox in June.
Residents will receive a letter detailing plans to close the Frisco ISD Tax Office at 6948 Maple Street effective June 1, 2013.
The notification will also include information about how and where to pay future taxes and details regarding methods of payment.
Frisco ISD will begin contracting with the Collin County Tax Assessor-Collector for collection services. The move will save the District more than $250,000 per year.
Moving forward, residents can pay Frisco ISD taxes at any of the three Collin County tax office locations, including the branch at the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard, Suite 2000. They can also choose to pay at locations in Plano and McKinney. This applies whether the taxpayer lives in Collin or Denton counties.
Frisco ISD taxpayers who live in the City of Frisco will now only have one place to go to pay their taxes.
In order to transition accounts to Collin County, residents will no longer be able to pay FISD taxes using the Tax Office website beginning Wednesday, May 15.
Employees will accept payments in person through Thursday, May 23.
After that date, employees will accept payments and send them to the county office. Collin County will send a receipt in early June to confirm payments.
