Program Overview:

The purpose of the Student Opportunity Center Night School is to provide an educational opportunity, outside of the normal school day, for students to master incomplete and failed courses.

The program utilizes an on-line curriculum, through a web-based education program. Frisco ISD classroom teachers facilitate the learning experience of each student in the night school program. Students enrolled in the night school program are required to arrive on time and stay for the entire 3 hours.* Students missing more than 9 hours of class time may be withdrawn from a class and will forfeit the cost of the course. (Reference the FISD academic handbook for the cost of night school.)

If a student is absent more than 9 hours or (3) class meeting nights, the parent must meet with the Night School Administrator immediately. The goals for the Student Opportunity Night School Program are as follows:

• Each student will achieve at or above the
anticipated achievement standard.

• Each student will build critical thinking skills.

• Each student will successfully complete the
Student Opportunity Center Night School
Program in a successful and timely fashion.
