Statement of Philosophy

At the Student Opportunity Center, our goal is to provide a safe and orderly learning environment where all students that enter our programs can learn and have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential. Students, no matter their background or reasons for attending classes at the SOC, are valued as young adults and are treated with respect and care.

The Student Opportunity Center in the Frisco ISD receives and services students in the 9th through 12th grades from all FISD High School campuses. Students whose needs cannot be met on the regular campus, who are struggling academically, or who violate the district Student Code of Conduct are best served through placement in a school offering alternative programs. These programs provide a structured environment and address the student’s academic and/or behavior needs. Students are placed at the Student Opportunity Center by their home campuses when it is determined that the students meet the criteria for our alternative school’s various programs. Students attending the Student Opportunity Center will exit their individual programs with the skills necessary for continued academic, behavioral, and social success.

Our Mission
