Parents please remind your student that if they are not feeling well and think they may need to go home sick, they need to ask their teacher to see Nurse Solomon.  She will evaluate them and make the decision if parents need to be called.  Calling or texting their parent during the school day is a violation of the district's BYOD policy and could result in your child's phone being taken up by their teacher.  Most importantly your student's safety and health is our biggest concern, so please remind them to see Nurse Solomon when they aren't feeling well.

Lunch: Visits by Parents Policy and Procedure

For security and TEA-compliance reasons, the following policies will be implemented beginning school year

2011-2012:

  • Parents, please join your student in having lunch at the Visitors Table, located just inside the cafeteria doors.
  • Only parents and their students will be allowed to sit at the visitor table.
  • Please only provide food for yourself and your student.  Please see below for policies pertaining to this.

From page 8 of the Frisco ISD Middle School Student Handbook:

Students or parents should only bring enough food for themselves. No large quantities to feed other students are allowed. The Texas Nutrition Policy does not allow sharing food. Students should only bring enough food or snacks for themselves.

Signing Students Out During the Day

To help reduce disruption to instruction, and most importantly, for the safety of our students, we are unable to have students leave their classes before a parent arrives and is confirmed in the front office. It is only after parents (or approved adults) have checked in with the receptionist that students will be called to leave their class. Please allow extra time for this to occur. Thanks for your understanding.
