FHS Choir Students are State bound!
The FHS Choir students were very successful at Choir Solo/Ensemble Competition this past Saturday. The FHS Choir Program had 24 students bring home superior medals with 9 of those students advancing to state. The following FHS Choir students earned a superior medal:
Sydney Crowder, David Turnipseed, Ramya Movva, Uju Okoye, Brianna Leavell, Lexi Murphy, Ervin Moore, Lucy Swan, Brinda Girish, Alaina Michel, Hannah Yeatts, Bailey Anderson, Anna Smith, Joshua Fletcher, Naomi Fletcher. FHS Student Art Work Shown at the State Capitol:

Congratulations to Zach Welch, his artwork was accepted into the State Capitol Show during March for YAM Month. The Capitol event is Sunday March 25th at 2:00 pm in the Capitol at Austin, in the auditorium followed by a reception at the Capitol Grill. Parents, students and teachers are invited as well.
FHS Wrestlers are STATEBOUND:
Great past weekend for the Raccoon wrestlers. Ashton Harris and Shane Roberson both finished 2nd at the Region 2 wrestling tournament. Taylor Irwin, Sandra Flores, and Abigail Flores each finished 4th. All 5 qualified for the State Tournament in Austin in two weeks. DJ Flowers, Kristen Cole and Adela Penaloza also wrestled in the Regionals. And to top it all off, our very own Coach Wall was named Region 2 Girls Coach of the Year! She is also nominee for State Girls Coach of the Year.

FHS Swimmers and Divers are Statebound:

Congratulations to the FHS swimmers and divers. Both teams won the Region III Swimming and Diving Championships held last Friday and Saturday at the FISD Natatorium. The girls team totaled 468 points, well ahead of 2nd place Lovejoy's 213 points. The boy's team totaled 403 points while McKinney and Wakeland tied for 2nd with 265 points. Corey Nix was named Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Meet and set new school and pool records in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. His times both were also faster than the current UIL 4A State Records and were each Automatic All-American times. Lauren Dehls was also named Outstanding Female Diver for the Regional Meet. For Frisco High's girls, it was the 7th Region title in 11 years while it was the 8th for the boys. Click here to read more results. |

FHS Football Signing Day:
In February, Austin Zoda signed with Truman State University and Carlos Harris signed with the University of North Texas. We are very proud of you both Raccoons, and wish you the best of luck as you continue on with your bright futures.

Congratulations to our FHS divers:
At the District diving competition, 9th graders Lauren Dehls and Ashleigh Dehls took 1st and 2nd respectively in the girls division and Mitch Larios finished 2nd in the boys division. All 3 qualified for the Regional diving competition in 2 weeks.
Good luck to our swimmers who will be competing in the District swimming competition. FHS girls are shooting for their 10th district title in the past 11 years while the boys are after their 9th title in the past 11 years. Thanks to our divers, we're off to a great start.
FHS ACDEC Qualifies for state for 16 years in a row:
This past weekend (Jan. 20-21) the Frisco High School Academic Decathlon team traveled to Centennial High School in Frisco, Texas to compete in the Region IX Academic Decathlon competition. Frisco placed seventh at the competition and now moves on to state competition for the sixteenth year in a row, where the winner could go on to compete in nationals.

FHS Debate Team:
The FHS Debate Team competed over the weekend at the 2012 Flower Mound Forum. Congratulations to Jessica Bathea, Amber Rosamond, and Panchum Shaw for bringing home some trophies. Jessica placed 3rd in Original Oratory. Panchum placed 6th in Original Oratory, and Amber Rosamond earned the 2nd place trophy in Impromptu Speaking.
FHS BPA qualifies for State for the 9th year in a row:
On Saturday Jan 21st, the Frisco High School Chapter of Business Professionals of America competed at their regional conference.
Tricia Francisco was awarded a Scholarship for her BPA efforts over the past 2 years.
