Transportation News for Parents
Dear Spears Parents,
To avoid over-crowding on our buses and to ensure our students' safety, we will not be able to honor requests for students to ride with bus-riding friends. We will handle transportation emergencies on a
case-by-case basis. If you have an extreme emergency, please notify the office. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
A Message From the Transportation Department
If you have transportation questions, please call the Dispatcher at 469-633-6562 or 6560,6561. These lines will have someone available from 6:15 am until 5:30 pm, Monday-Friday. If the lines are busy
please leave a message we will call you back. If there is a transportation related emergency, after
5:30 pm, please call 911.

Need to Report an Absence?
Please notify Dana Bridges, data clerk at bridgesd@friscoisd.org and copy your child’s teacher. You can also call the main number at
469-633-2900.
A note from a parent or health care provider is required within 3 days of the absence. If a signed note is not received within the required time frame, the absence will be considered unexcused. Please include the following information:
- Child’s name
- Child’s teacher
- Parent contact number
- Reason for absence
FISD Absence Policies
Elementary Compulsory Attendance & Truancy Filings
No Pets on School Grounds
No pets are allowed on FISD property while students are at school unless authorized by the principal for a preapproved instructional purpose. Those walking students to or from school with pets will not be allowed on FISD property.
Attention! Attention! School Parties
We are allowed only three party days per school year, Winter Holidays, Valentine’s Day, and End of Year. Halloween is NOT one of our approved party days. Please do not send any treats, goodie bags,
or other Halloween items to school. Thank you.
Staff Rules for Facebook Accounts:
With the popularity of Facebook as a means of staying connected in today’s world, many parents often make “friend” requests to teachers on their Facebook sites. We ask our employees to clearly distinguish between personal and professional communications, so please do not be offended if your request goes unanswered or is denied. If a teacher was friends with a parent before a student was in his/her class, then they may already be a friend on their social networking sites. It would be difficult for a teacher to be “friends” with the parents of all of their students and this is not recommended due to concerns regarding confidentiality, professionalism and potential conflicts.

Con lo popular que es Facebook como el medio para conectarse con el mundo de hoy, muchos de nuestros padres han mandado solicitudes de “amistad” a nuestros maestros y maestras en sus sitios de Facebook. Nosotros les pedimos a nuestros empleados que haya una clara diferencia entre sus comunicaciones personales y profesionales, es por esta razón que les pedimos a ustedes que no se ofendan si su solicitud no es contestada o sea negada. Si la maestra ya era amiga de los padres desde antes de que el estudiante estuviera en su clase, entonces ellos ya formaban parte de la red de amistad en sus sitios. Sería muy difícil para los maestros y maestras tener “amistad” con todos los padres de sus estudiantes y además no lo recomendamos por asuntos relacionados a confidencialidad, profesionalismo, y conflictos potenciales.
