Welcome to the Counselor’s Corner! My sister was my inspiration because I wanted to be the kind of teacher she needed; one that encourages and believes a child can overcome any obstacle. I began my education career in 1985 after graduating from George Mason University.
When I was a teacher, several of my students experienced loss. I saw their sadness and need for a compassionate counselor. I went back to school for my graduate degree in school counseling, K-12, from Virginia Tech.
One difficulty for me as a child was moving around quite a bit – I was an Army brat. Although very difficult at the time, that experience helped me learn to be outgoing at a young age which has really helped me in life.
How wonderful it is to be the mother of four teenagers with a loving husband – my best friend and parenting partner. There are a variety of new opportunities for us to grow in our own parenting skills these days! I have been an educator in Frisco ISD since 2000 and am so excited to continue serving our wonderful school family at Allen. Have a great school year! |
