The CTE Center has been selected to be one of a handful of GO Centers in the state. This is an exciting program that will be available for our students.
A GO Center is a college and career information center primarily located in high schools. The center focuses on creating a school-wide college-going culture and promotes college awareness and accessibility. The GO Center serves as the primary point of coordination between the Education-GO-Get-It campaign efforts and local communities. TWU Go Centers are supported by Collegiate G-Force mentors during the fall semester (September-November) and spring semester (February-April) and support is provided by TWU staff throughout the academic year.
The G-Force team is made up of college students. Their attraction is that just a couple of years ago they sat just where our students are now sitting. They know the fear of filling out that first application, the concern over will I have money for college and what to do with the scholarship applications… they speak “high school.” The teams working at CTE are well versed in helping students go to college. They even have a background in helping students w/o documentation go to college! They keep a record of each student and do the all important follow up! In other words they become mentors for our students.
2011-2012 Go Center Hours:
