Frisco ISD / The Princeton Review Partnership

Frisco Independent School District is excited to announce a partnership with The Princeton Review; as a Princeton Review Partner, ALL Frisco ISD students will receive a great discount off the SAT and ACT courses as well as the PSAT Clinics. These courses will run throughout the year and will be exclusive to Frisco ISD students.

The courses are scheduled to coincide with the test administrations. The Comprehensive courses include 30 hours of instruction, 4 full-length practice tests, and free extra help with your instructor. The Essentials courses include 18 hours of instruction and up to four (SAT) full-length diagnostic tests. The Bootcamp includes 5 instructional hours, and a full-length practice test, while the PSAT Clinic includes 6 instructional hours and a full-length practice test, giving you a great foundation of test taking skills. In addition, students will also have five months access to the SAT or ACT Online Student Center where they can review lessons, practice extra drills, and view their diagnostic test results. Following each practice test in the course, students will receive a printed diagnostic score report, complete with question and category breakdown and comments for improving their essay.

If you are interested in improving your scores, The Princeton Review will steer you in the right direction. For more information, speak to your counselor or call The Princeton Review at 214-890-0099. We'll see you in the classroom!

TEA ACT Voucher Testing Spring 2010
Grade 11 students who are enrolled in a Texas public school district or charter school have an opportunity to take one free college admissions test funded by the state. Thanks to funding from the Texas Legislature, the Texas Education Agency has contracted with ACT to make free ACT tests available this spring and early summer. This is part of a larger
effort to increase college preparation efforts in the state. The first part of the initiative begins immediately with spring 2010 ACT testing. Students who choose to take the ACT with state funding will need to submit a voucher in lieu of payment. For more information on this free testing resource, download the ACT Voucher Q&A document.

Official SAT Online Course

Frisco ISD has partnered with the test maker, College Board, to provide the Official SAT Online CourseTM to students in grades 9-12 free of charge. To enroll in this course, please contact your counselor to receive your SAT Online Course registration card and code.

The Official SAT Online CourseTM is the only online course developed by the test maker. It is personalized, comprehensive, and available 24 hours a day from any computer connected to the Internet. Students can use the course outline as a syllabus for the classroom or as a guide for self-paced study. The course's 18 interactive lessons cover the SAT's critical reading, writing, and mathematics sections, and the PSAT/NMSQT. The lessons feature interactive activities and multimedia content to create an engaging learning environment. Students gain valuable experience by taking ten practice tests, answering more than 600 practice questions, and responding to practice essay questions—all developed by the test maker. Students increase confidence by practicing with questions just like the ones they'll see on test day.

For those students who also take face-to-face test prep courses, such as the ones offered by The Princeton Review, this program serves as a follow-up that will allow you to continue practicing and preparing for the PSAT and SAT exams.
