August 7, 2010
Dear 2010-11 Heritage Students and Parents,
I hope this note finds you all well and enjoying your summer vacation. We at Heritage High School have been busily preparing for the new school year and have some pertinent information to share with you.
Due to some scheduling issues, we have made some changes to the calendar regarding schedule pick up and the 9th grade Coyote Round Up. We apologize for the last minute change, and we thank you advance for your understanding and patience.
Tuesday, August 10th
Schedule pick up for Sophomores from 9:00 – 12:00
Time Last Name
9:00-10:00 A-G
10:00-11:00 H-P
11:00-12:00 Q-Z
NOTE: Schedules will only be released to the student themselves.
Bring your Sophomore Class dues of $25.
Checks and/or money orders are to be made out to Heritage HS.
NOTICE: In lieu of having a fund-raiser for Prom, we have decided to collect dues from each class as we grow. While optional, these dues are intended to cover the cost of a prom ticket, which helps defray senior year costs.
Beginning their first year at Heritage, students pay a class fee of $25 each year. Students who pay the $25 dues over the three year period (Freshman, Sophomore and Junior) will accrue a total of $75 which will cover their Prom ticket in their Senior year.
These fees will be documented and credited to the individual student paying the fee. Should a student not attend Prom his/her senior year or move prior to Prom, all fees paid by the student will be submitted for reimbursement to that student upon the presentation of a receipt documenting that dues have previously been paid.
Tuesday, August 10th
Schedule pick up for Juniors from 1:30 – 4:00.
Time Last Name
1:30-2:20 A-G
2:20-3:10 H-P
3:10-4:00 Q-Z

Coyote Round Up for Freshmen from 9:00 -11:30
Schedule
8:00-9:00 Registration (location front foyer)
9:00-11:30 Orientation
NOTE: Schedules will only be released to the student themselves.
Students will spend a fun, information-filled morning with a camp leader and learn all they need to know about becoming a 9th grader at Heritage High School. Schedules will be distributed (to those who have shown proof of residency). Don’t miss the opportunity to check out the school, see old friends, and meet new ones!
NOTE: Heritage HS has a new student portrait company this year.
Don Painter will be responsible for all yearbook photos and student IDs. They will be on
campus during schedule pick-up to take both student ID pictures and yearbook photos on August 10th and 11th. Please make sure the students are dressed appropriately. There will also be a make-up and re-take date in September should either be necessary. Ordering information will be available at a later date.
All students are required to have a student ID picture taken before being allowed to pick up their class schedule.
Students will be able to put money into their lunch account during schedule pickup. Putting money in your account prior to the first day of school will reduce the wait for lunch on the first day or two of school. Checks or money orders should be made payable to FISD.
Students, if you will be driving your car to school this year, you will need to register your vehicle. You can pick up the registration form during schedule pick up. These forms must be completed and turned in to the Attendance Office in order for you to receive your free parking sticker.
Students enrolled in Pre-AP or AP English classes need to consult the required Summer Reading List that is posted on the HHS website. (A copy is also in this mail out packet.) Students in these classes should have purchased and read their respective class’s reading assignment prior to the start of classes on August 23rd.
Freshmen, bring your class dues of $25.
Checks and/or money orders are to be made out to Heritage HS.

Frisco ISD is implementing an exciting new enrollment system this year from Infosnap. In an effort to reduce paper waste, improve accuracy, increase efficiency, and save you time, we will be replacing some of our previous paper practices with online alternatives. This new process will begin this school year. You will receive a letter and/or email from Frisco ISD with a unique website login and information on how to complete the required forms online. These forms will be required for student schedule pick up at the secondary level. You should have received this letter from Frisco ISD in late July.
You will be instructed to go online to fill out the information required annually. At the end of the online session, a signature page will be generated. This form must be signed and delivered to the school along with a current proof of residence to pick up student schedules on the designated schedule pick up dates listed above. Acceptable proof of residence is a current electric or water bill, lease or rental agreement or contract on a new home. Parents without internet access at home can utilize the public library; a district night for support should have been communicated in the letter.
To complete the registration process, you must print and return a signature page (signed by parent) and proof of residency.
If you have forgotten or lost your Infosnap code, please contact Kathy Askins, Data Clerk, at 469-633-5907.
A reminder to all students: The only allowable schedule changes are Pre-AP and AP changes and/or program changes such as to/from Band, Athletics, Orchestra, etc. No other elective changes can be made to your schedule. Our counselors will be available during schedule pick up.
Thank you for your continued partnership in the education of your child and for your support of our school. We look forward to a phenomenal 2010-2011 school year at Heritage.
Regards,
Mark S. Mimms
Principal
