Both students were enrolled in the Career and Technical Animation One class during the 2009-2010 school year when they entered their animation short Captain, My Captain into the state competition.

The winners were announced at the Industry Giants event held June 11 -12, 2010 at SMU.  This is the largest conference of animators in the Dallas/Ft Worth area and is sponsored by Dallas-based ‘A Bunch of Short Guys’ non-profit animation guild in partnership with the Texas Film Commission.

The competition was open to all high school and college students in Texas during the current school year and is designed to showcase 3D animation skills and talent. Senior level animators from a variety of local animation and video game studios judged the animation shorts.
