Young American Talent Art Show Selects Frisco High Artists to Exhibit(March, 2008)

YAT artists Nine Frisco High School AP Art students recently received notice that their 12 artworks were selected for the Regional “Young American Talent” Art Show sponsored by the Visual Arts Guild of the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.  Fernando Alvarez (2 works), Kelsey Barnes, Madi Gilbert, Moon Kang (2 works), Lianna Lee, George Mesta, Helen Oldham (2 works), Tony Penney and Brandon Strait have work on display in the H. Paxton Moore Fine Art Gallery at El Centro College in Dallas from March 5-29.  Out of the approximately 700 entries submitted only about 125 artworks were selected for this exhibit.

The awards ceremony is in the gallery on Sat., March 29, at 2:00-4:00 p.m. with cash awards going to the top 3 works in each of the 9 categories. The jurors are Don Beck from UTA, Rosemary DesPlas from El Centro College and Richard Doherty from Tarrant County College.
