On Sunday, March 4th, five FISD art students will travel to Austin to be part of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month State Capitol Exhibition, awards ceremony and reception. Forty-three school districts will be represented in the Central Gallery of the State Capitol. The exhibit will be on public display March 2-10th.

Representing FISD at the exhibition are Thomas Foster from Curtsinger Elementary with teacher Laverne Forwark and Frisco High School students Alex Cox, Travis Case, Kilee Herlin and Sara Martin with teacher June Waggener. Dr. Debra Nelson and Dr. Daryl Trent will also attend the event.

The TAEA Youth Art Month committee selected 100 of the 300 works submitted state-wide for the exhibition. It showcases Pre K-12works of art from across the state of Texas. This is Frisco ISD’s 10th year to be selected.
