Wakeland Students Honored by Rotary (May, 2008)

May Rotary spotlight studentsEach month, the Rotary Club of Frisco that meets at noon at Dallas Baptist University honors outstanding Frisco ISD seniors for their accomplishments and achievements.

On Thursday, May 22, Rotarians recognized Wakeland High seniors Christian O’Rourke and Krystal Bailey.

Krystal is the daughter of Kelvin and Maritza Bailey. She is involved in Academic Decathlon, National Honor Society and has also been involved in choir. In Academic Decathlon she placed 2nd in essay and 3rd in economics at the state competition. Krystal works at Franklin Covey and is a youth volunteer with the city and a leader in her church youth group. She will attend Brigham Young University and major in English.

Christian is the son of Michael O’Rourke and Linda Lombardi. He is involved in tennis (team captain) and National Honor Society (vice president). Team tennis qualified for state and individually he qualified in men’s doubles. Christian is involved with Relay for Life in volunteer efforts outside of school. He will attend Boston College and plans at this time to major in Biology to pursue medical or veterinary school.
