Frisco Noon Rotary Club Honors Outstanding Frisco ISD Seniors (January, 2007)

On Thursday, January 18, Frisco High seniors Whitney Newman and Alex Holton were recognized.Each month, the Frisco Noon Rotary Club honors outstanding Frisco ISD seniors for their achievements.

On Thursday, January 18, Frisco High seniors Whitney Newman and Alex Holton were recognized.

Whitney is the daughter of Jim and Dru (Wade) Newman, and is the sixth and fifth generation of these two long-time Frisco families. During her high school years she has been involved in many activities and is currently a varsity cheerleader, on the varsity wrestling team (captain), the varsity softball team, and is very active with marching band (section leader), wind ensemble and National Honor Society. Whitney has many honors and recognitions and has also earned more than 200 community service hours. In addition to her volunteer efforts with community band and First Baptist Church, she is employed at Eagle Gymnastics. She plans to attend Baylor, majoring in Business and Entrepreneurship.

Alex is the sone of Robert and Sheryl Holton. He is involved in Academic Decathlon, Young Idealists Club, and is co-founder of the Senior cynic Society! He is a National Merit Commended Scholar, an AP Scholar with Honor, and is a poet of the year nominee through Poetry.com. In addition to school activities, he is assistant youth leader and worship leader at St. Philips' Episcopal Church. Alex will attend the University of Texas at Dallas on a full academic scholarship and plans to major in neuroscience, with a minor in philosophy. He is already planning to pursue his graduate studies at Rice or a similar institution, with his work being in Psychoacoustic Science.
