Frisco Noon Rotary Club Honors FISD Seniors (September, 2006)


Steven Zhu and Chelsea DrescherEach month the Frisco noon Rotary Club honors seniors from FISD high schools.

On Thursday, September 28, Rotarians recognized the outstanding accomplishments of Steven Zhu and Chelsea Drescher.

Stephen is the son of Yangyang Zhu and Meimei Wu. He is involved in Academic Decathlon (all four years) and has also been involved with band, UIL math and computer science, Young Idealists Club and science club. As a junior, he achieved a perfect score on the SAT and is a National Merit Semi-finalists. Stephen has a part-time job and is also a volunteer at the library and as a lab assistant at school. He plans to attend Harvard, Stanford or MIT to major in electrical engineering and possibly minor in economics.

Chelsea is the daughter of Scott and Patty Drescheer. She is involved in Academic Decathlon, Student Council, National Honor Society, Choir, Science Club, and the Independent Study and Mentorship Program. Chelsea is a National Merit Semi-finalist. She has more than 100 hours of volunteer service, and continues to volunteer at The Turning Point. She plans to major in English or to obtain a Liberal Arts degree at Stanford or the University of Texas.
