Rotary Spotlight (November, 2005)

Brian Hales and Katie BakerEach month, the Frisco Noon Rotary Club recognizes the outstanding achievements of FISD seniors.

On November 17, FHS seniors Katie Baker and Brian Hales.

Katie is the daughter of James Baker and Janet Gilhaus. She has lived in FISD since the ninth grade, moving here from Plano.

She is on the softball team and is active in National Honor Society. She ran cross country for three years and is now in the Independent Study Mentorship class. Katie also works at Aparicius 30 hours a week as a hostess and plans to attend University of Houston or University of North Texas, majoring in hospitality management. Meteorolgy at Texas A&M or the Air Force are other considerations.

Brian is the son of John and Kim Hales, and he moved to FISD in 6th grade. He is in the varsity band, where he is head quartermaster and low brass section leader. He is also involved with National Honor Society and chairs the community service projects. Brian also attended camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) last summer. He works at Kroger as a supervisor and plans to attend Texas A&M or Oklahoma State to major in mechanical Engineering. Another option is to explore working in youth leadership/ministry.
