Wester Middle School Student To Attend National Storytelling Festival (September 1, 2007)

Keith Kibby of Wester Middle SchoolKeith Kibby, eighth grade student at Wester Middle School, can tell a great story. His abilities have developed so much that he has been asked to step down from competition at the Frisco Storytelling Festival and become a youth mentor to help develop other young talent. His big news this year is that he is one of the featured youth storytellers at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Kibby was invited to another well-known festival in Pidgeon Forge, Tennessee, last year. His mother, Kristie, says she is particularly excited about his invitation to Jonesborough because the festival held there is the original storytelling festival that kicked off the national interest in storytelling. Keith is featured with several other young storytellers as the future of storytelling on the website www.storytellingcenter.com/festival/voices.htm.

Keith has participated in the past Frisco Storytelling Festival events and has found a real love of telling a tall tale. He is also active in the Wester Wildcats band.
