Titans to Host Percussion Concert (February, 2008)

On Friday, February 29, 2008, at 7 p.m in the Centennial High School auditorium, the Titan Band will host the 5th annual Centennial Cluster Percussion Concert, “Rhythms of the Future,” featuring over 70 percussion students in grades 6-12 from Centennial High School, and Clark and Wester Middle Schools.  This special event will include solo and ensemble music for percussion from many genres including classical, rock, tango, jazz, flamenco, new age, and world music.  This is a great opportunity with many student benefits including all different grade levels of percussionists performing together and discovering the broad extensive musical realm that drumming and percussion covers, according to Derrick Logozzo, percussion director.  There will also be a reception following the concert in the cafeteria.
