Students Honored with Rotary Spotlight(October, 2007)

Each month, the Frisco Noon Rotary Club recognizes two Frisco ISD seniors for their outstanding accomplishments.

On October 11, Rotarians honored Sanaz Talaifar and Nirjhor Rahman of Centennial High School.

Sanaz is the daughter of Farahnaz Ghazizadeh and Bahram Talaifar. .

She has attended FISD schools since second grade. She is involved in Orchestra (violin II principal), French Club (council), French Team (1st place overall in level 3), National Honor Society and French National Honor Society and is an AP Scholar. Outside of school she is involved with piano, ballet, volunteer work, and maintaining her Persian culture. She is applying to the University of Texas at Austin and Rice University, with plans toward a major in the social sciences.

Nirjhor is the son of Gumrun and Lutfor Rahman. He has lived in the Plano part of Frisco ISD for six years, the longest he has lived in one area. He has also lived in Japan, Maryland and Richardson. He is involved in the Independent Study Mentorship Program, Youth Leadership Frisco, Congressman Sam Johnson’s Congressional Youth Advisory Council and the newly formed Frisco Teen Court. Nijhor plans to work in International Business, and is applying to Columbia, Georgetown and the University of Texas.
