Rotary Spotlight Honors Wakeland Students(November, 2007)

Ilsa Levine and Austin Lane

Each month, the Frisco Noon Rotary Club recognizes two Frisco ISD seniors for their outstanding accomplishments.

On November 8, Rotarians honored Ilsa Levine and Austin Lane of Wakeland High School.

Ilsa is the daughter of Lanny Levine and Elizabeth Davids. She is involved in the International Thespian Society, serving as president and historian; Student Council, serving as vice president and parliamentarian; National Honor Society; and the National Forensics League. In the community she is involved as a youth worship leader at her church, volunteers for juvenile diabetes, and is a member of the Mayor’s Youth Council. She was Miss Texas Teen America 2006, 1st runner up to Miss Teen America, and a finalist in Miss Teen Texas 2007. She plans to attend UCLA or UT Austin, majoring in political science and broadcast journalism.

Austin is the son of Patrick and Nancy Lane. He is captain of the varsity golf team and is also involved in National Honor Society and the Mayor’s Youth Council. He has been ranked number one in his class for all four years and is an AP Scholar with Honors, in addition to being named to Who’s Who Among American High School Students. Austin also tutors and is involved in other volunteer opportunities, such as the Gary Burns Frisco Fun Run. He plans to attend MIT, Stanford or Texas A&M University to major in chemical engineering.
