Come Together (March, 2007)

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus came to Frisco ISD on Thursday, March 1, and provided a group of students an opportunity to work with the latest and greatest in music technology and to learn more about the possibilities of a related career.

The non-profit outreach program was established about 10 years ago to promote music education and the power of music, while giving back to the community at-large.

Six FISD students were with the bus and the staff all day writing and producing a song as well as a music video. There were also 96 students, 24 from each high school, touring the bus throughout the day.

FISD Secondary Instructional Technology Coordinator Melissa Fouche said that the experience for the students was phenomenal.

"One of the most exciting aspects was seeing our FISD students working together to write a song and perform it together - there they were, one student from each high school - a true embodiment of the group's mission . .. Come Together," she said.

Students involved in the project were:

Liberty High School, Eric Wynn, 10th Grade, Piano & Guitar
Wakeland High School, Ryan Fellhauer,  9th Grade, Guitar & Trumpet
Centennial High School, Levi Bradford, 12th Grade, Drums
Centennial High, Cristina Burke, 12th Grade, Final Cut Pro—Intermediate
Frisco High School, Zack Kuykendahl, 12th Grade, Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano, Ukulele
Frisco High, Daphne Wu, 12th Grade, Final Cut Pro--Intermediate

Special thanks to Apple for giving FISD the opportunity to host the bus.
