Nathan Navarro, FHS Class of 2003, Graduates from West Point(June 1, 2007)

Nathan Navarro is sworn to Army in at West PointNathan Navarro of Frisco has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Information Systems Engineering from West Point and will now begin officer training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Nathan graduated from Frisco High School in 2003. He is the son of Hector and Lydia Navarro of Frisco. Mrs. Navarro works at Frisco City Hall and described the West Point graduation ceremony as awesome. “One would have to be there to experience the grandeur of the West Point tradition.We were certainly overwhelmed with joy at the call of his name. Vice President Dick Cheney’s speech to all the graduates was very poignant. The class of 2007 was the first class to accept the offer of admission (to West Point) knowing we are fighting a war against terrorism,” she said.

Navarro at graduationMs. Navarro said that eventually her son will be stationed at Fort Lewis near Seattle, Washington where he will have approximately 50 enlisted soldiers under his authority. “It was bitter sweet for all these cadets, they have developed a strong bond toward each other, but these young men are ready to serve our country and be the leaders of tomorrow,” she said.
