Fowler Band Wins National Award (September, 2008)

Reedy congratulates David Dunham, band directorFowler Middle School Symphonic Band, under the direction of David Dunham, has been named a commended winner by the National wind Band Honors Project.

The National Wind Band Honors Project is a national competition entered by recordings. The top 25 percent selected are named National Winners and the second 25 percent receive Commended Honors. The contest was entered by 75 bands from around the country.

The project was adjudicated by Michael Haithcock, Director of Bands at The University of Michigan; Anthony Maiello, Director of Instrumental Studies at George Mason University and Richard Clary,  Director of Wind Ensemble Studies at Florida State University.

Superintendent Rick Reedy congratulated the band and Dunham on Thursday, September 18th.
