FHS Students Selected for Rotary Spotlight(Sept. 14, 2007)

Rotary Spotlight Recipiants

Each month, the Frisco Noon Rotary Club honors outstanding Frisco ISD seniors for their accomplishments and achievements.

On Thursday, September 13, Rotarians recognized Frisco High seniors Rachel LaViola and Avinash Achaibar.

Rachel is the daughter of William and Mara LaViola. She is involved in National Honor Society, International Thespian Society (president), Theatre Arts, Triple Trio (varsity choir), Music Appreciation Club, Theatre UIL and Choir UIL. She has recently been named a National Merit Semifinalist and has been honored as Best Actress at District and Area, All-Star Cast at Regionals, Thespian of the Year, and Honor Thespian. Rachel is trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis and DIR Floortime, allowing her to provide therapy for children with autism. She hopes to attend Yale.

Avinash is the son of Gowton and Manisha Achaibar. He is involved in National Honor Society, Key Club, Spanish club, Raccoons Against Destructive Decisions, National Art Honor Society, Soccer and Track. He is currently ranked first in his class and has received various scholastic awards at FHS. He volunteers through Hindu temple, the Plano YMCA and through his clubs and organizations, which are involved with the elementary schools and Frisco Family Services. He hopes to attend Stanford, majoring in architecture, engineering or finance. Avinash is also involved in karate.
