Frisco ISD Elementary Spring Song Fest Scheduled (January, 2007)

Wakeland High School will be the site of the first Spring Song Fest offered for Frisco’s 22 elementary school choral ensembles, according to Melissa Ringel, lead teacher for elementary music and Daryl Trent, Frisco Independent School District’s Director of Fine Arts.

The event, scheduled for May 3, will offer an opportunity for students to perform on a large stage, to hear other school programs, and to receive critiques from experts in elementary music.

The event will be judged by three experts in the field of elementary music. The judges are Julie Scott, Elementary Music Coordinator for Richardson ISD; Cecile Johnson, founder and director of the award-winning Woodrow Wilson Elementary All-Star Choir, and Dr. Warren Henry, Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs; Founder and Director of the University of North Texas Early Childhood Music Program.
